PITTSBURGH CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS | THREES PROGRAM- 8TH GRADE
Values Based Education
Greetings, Valued Families,
I am Ms. Droppa, the new first grade teacher at Greater Works Christian School. I can’t wait to meet all the wonderful students, siblings and parents/guardians of this school!
I am a proud graduate of Carlow University with a degree in Elementary Education and where I am currently pursuing a Master Degree of Early Childhood Education.
I have an extensive teaching and program background working with students with behavioral, learning, emotional, and physical challenges in both the for-profit and non-profit arenas. Earlier in my career, I taught first and sixth grade. I spent the middle part of my career developing and instructing STEAM, Literacy and Healthy Living Curriculum to grade school and middle school students. Recently, I worked with young adults in a higher education and trade school setting.
I strive to teach hands-on learning, Montessori style education, and for every lesson to meet all learning styles. I encourage divergent thinking in the classroom, incorporate enrichment activities in every way possible, and follow a multicultural, multi-dimensional. and faith-based curriculum. My favorite subjects to teach are English Language Arts and Science, but I am happy to engage inquisitive and creative minds about any topic.
There are two aspects of my life that I am passionate about: faith and education. I aspire to model, encourage and inspire this same desire for God’s love and faithfulness and the thirst for learning to the students in my classroom.
I recognize that parents are a fundamental influence in a child’s life. Parents know their children best! I look forward to partnering with the parents/guardians of the first grade class to ensure their children’s success.
I look forward to meeting each of you, and I anticipate an awesome school year learning together!
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
